Thermal Insulation and Energy-Saving Technology: To ensure effective thermal insulation, light-gauge steel structures utilize durable insulation materials in exterior walls and roofs. In addition to filling the spaces between wall studs with fiberglass, a layer of insulation is applied to the exterior of the wall to effectively break thermal bridges formed by studs connecting to exterior panels. Fiberglass is also used to fill the spaces between floor joists to minimize heat transfer between floors, and between studs in all interior walls to reduce heat transfer between rooms.
Fire Protection Technology: Fire safety is a critical aspect of light-gauge steel structures, which are classified with a Grade IV fire resistance rating. Fire-resistant gypsum board is installed on both sides of the walls and on the ceilings beneath the floor structure; standard firewalls and partition walls between units utilize 25.4mm (1-inch) thick gypsum board to meet the one-hour fire resistance requirement. Furthermore, the fiberglass filling within wall stud cavities and floor joist spaces provides additional protection against both fire and heat transfer.
Sound Insulation Technology: Fiberglass wool is used to fill the spaces within interior and exterior walls as well as between floor joists, effectively blocking airborne sound. To address structure-borne impact noise, specific structural measures are employed: partition walls between units are constructed using a double-stud system with an intervening air gap, while the small furring channels used to mount ceiling gypsum boards feature an elastic design with small slots to effectively minimize the transmission of structure-borne sound between floors.
