Prefabrication of Steel Components
Prefabrication and assembly of steel components are to be carried out on a steel platform in accordance with the installation sequence and process requirements, ensuring high welding quality.
For spliced structural steel sections, the spacing between flange plate splices and web plate splices must exceed 200 mm. The length of a flange plate splice should be no less than twice the plate width; the width of a web plate splice should be no less than 300 mm, and its length no less than 600 mm.
To facilitate welding and ensure quality, components such as stiffener plates, connection plates, shim plates, and cantilever beams (or beams) attached to columns and girders should, as far as possible, be assembled and welded on the ground-level steel platform according to the dimensions specified in the construction drawings.
In addition to adhering to construction drawings and specifications during prefabrication on the steel platform, factors such as on-site installation procedures and potential variations in installation dimensions must also be taken into account.
